Note from Mike Posnick: Goldfus surname Rare, Laukuva is small.
In Laukuva, there are two brothers, Gershon Yitzhak ben Chaim Goldfus ca 1830-`1895 and Yehudah Leib ben Chaim Goldfus ca 1836-1921. In list of Rabbi Electors for Laukuva of 25 Feb 1914, there is a record for Leyb Gershon Goldfus, son of Chaim, age 71 b: abt 1843. He thinks both brothers were combined in the record.
SigLists JewishGen Discussion from Pamela Chasen
Hannah "Ann" Goldfus came from Popelan (Papile) to South Africa.
Note Mayerowitz came from Kurshan (Kursenai) and went to South Africa. Note is Pam's grandmother. She was Pam Mayerowitz. She would like more information if we have it.
I know that quite a few Goldfoots made it to South Africa from Ireland.
Most Goldfoots/Goldfus people are found to hail from Telsiai, Lithuania. Also they are found to be from Kovno guberniya and Laukuva.
